What is Clubhouse, and how does it work

What is Clubhouse

Are you wondering what “Clubhouse” is and how it works—the social network everyone’s talking about these days?
Clubhouse is a live platform developed by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth, former employees of Pinterest and Google.
It’s a social network where people gather to discuss various topics using audio only.
There are no comments or written messages: all interaction is voice-based, and nothing is recorded.

How does Clubhouse work?

Unlike more popular social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, the only content on Clubhouse is audio—it’s like a massive podcast container. To join, you must be at least 18 years old, own an iPhone, and receive an invitation.

There’s another interesting factor, especially these days: privacy.
On Clubhouse, you simply talk in “rooms” that can be open, closed, or social, and are categorized by topics or groups of participants.
The moderator plays a key role, as they decide who gets to speak, granting permission to new invitees who remain “silent” upon their first entry.
This mechanism is useful for keeping haters and troublemakers away. Currently, you can only join via invitation if you’re an Apple user. Alternatively, you can join a waitlist after downloading the app and await an official invitation from an existing Clubhouse member.
